Semester Course: Game Coding Roblox Studio

Requirements

• Can Copy and Paste
• Mac or PC capable of Running Roblox Studio

Description

Students will learn to create original Roblox games by learning how to navigate Roblox Studio. Roblox Studio uses Luau coding language. Coding is simple with copy and paste scripts. Students are then encouraged to discuss what the code does by learning how to read what it does. By modifying and customizing existing scripts and proper saving techniques, students have access to their knowledge to use in different games at any time.

Classes are 55 minutes via Zoom Wednesdays @ 4pm PST / 5pm MST / 6pm CST / 7pm EST

Class Experience

• Learn how to use server and client based scripts
• Use lighting to enhance your games
• The core skills needed to create basic builds
• Learn how to collaborate on games
• Make a mini-game each week and work towards a final project game
• Manage plugins and animations

Students develop their creative skills by putting scripts into use in their games and customizing it to their liking.

Develop a strong understanding of the process of game development using Roblox Studio:

• Create 3D models
• Animation editor tool
• Create Server and Client scripts
• Realistic Lighting

The semester course allows students to create bonds with other students in the class by collaborating while contributing and developing their own strengths. Thanks to small class sizes, the instructor can use student interests’ to customize the lessons.
